Goldcrest

Full brand creation for a new business. Focusing on bringing cutting edge leadership development and strategic thinking to help businesses become equipped for the future.

About the project

The Goldcrest project required full brand creation. The only thing that was set in stone was the name – Goldcrest Partners. The client requested a classy, contemporary brand that reflected the companies vision of 'focusing on bringing cutting edge leadership development and strategic thinking to help businesses become equipped for the future'. Their expertise was in coaching CEO's and other high power roles to be their best and maximise their ability. The name 'Goldcrest' itself was based on a very small passerine bird in the kinglet family. It has a striking gold crest along it's head and is known as "king of the birds" in European folklore. This symbolised crown portraying the best in field.

The solution

To begin this project we presented the client with a range of logos to gauge their thoughts on styling and taste. Different logo styles were explored including wordmark, monogram, pictorial, emblem and combomark. It was quickly narrowed down to a few front runners, with the final option being chosen as the pictorial mark shown above.

The client was drawn to the classy, contemporary feel of the line drawn logo and pop of colour that highlights the birds 'gold crest', a feature they were keen to draw attention to. From this, work began on creating the wider brand identity. Colours, fonts, imagery, decorative assets, layouts, marketing material and much more were developed, tested and iterated to build a visual language the client was happy with. The circular logo mark provided an instant identifier that could be reflected throughout other decorative assets in the wider brand material.

Results

After various rounds of development, the client was extremely happy with final visual identity of their new brand. Work began on applying this to all the relevant documentation and marketing material, plus the creation of a brand guidelines document. Web designs were also created and sent off to a development team who executed this separately.

All the elements of the brand had been carefully thought out and planned so that all assets had a sense of continuity throughout and create a final product the client could be proud of.
